As part of what it has described as its biggest expansion in its history, United will be introducing new flights from Tokyo to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Kaoshiung, Taiwan; and Palau.

The Chicago-based carrier announced it will become the only airline to operate flights to Mongolia with a new seasonal service from Tokyo-Narita to Ulaanbaatar from May 1, 2025.

From July 11, 2025, United will also become the only US airline to offer flights to Kaoshiung, Taiwan to/from Narita. The new route will complement United's current flights between San Francisco and the Taiwanese capital of Taipei.

Adding to its current flights to Koror, Palau from its Pacific hub in Guam and Manila, Philippines, United will launch a new service between Narita and Koror.

Each of the new routes will offer customers connections in Narita on United's transpacific flights to five points in the US.

"No other airline gives customers nonstop access to as many unique international destinations and experiences from the U.S. as United," said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances. "Our network provides the most choice and variety for our customers, whether they are looking for a relaxing seaside getaway, once-in-a-lifetime adventure travel or to explore some of the most vibrant urban escapes across the globe."

In addition to the three new routes from Narita, United also announced it will launch eight new trans-Atlantic routes including five from its New York/Newark hub – Nuuk, Palermo, Bilbao, Madiera Island, and Faro; along with three new routes from Washington-Dulles – Dakar, Nice, and Venice. United will also previously operated routes to cities such as Athens, Venice, Dubrovnik.
